Ethernet

Our national robust metro ethernet core network offers clients high-speed, reliability of communication and enhanced secure connectivity

Simple and secure

Ethernet services are designed to address the increasing demand for high-speed data services nationally.

Integration to existing infrastructure is easy, and our connections are cost effective, highly secure, and we provide, manage, and maintain all equipment.

Benefits

  • Metro ethernet (ME) integrates easily with existing infrastructure.
  • Ethernet is a quality of service (QoS) enabled service and offers scalability based on client needs.
  • Openserve provides and manages all TCEs for the solution reactively.
  • Simple and highly secure, dedicated connection providing a high degree of transparency.
  • Cost effective monthly pricing for the client based on bandwidth and access type.
  • Reliable and robust core network enables our clients to concentrate on their business with the peace of mind that their services will always be working.
  • You can provision your own value-add layer 3 services on top of the ethernet service.

Features

  • Flexible bandwidth options ranging from 1 Mbps to 1000 Mbps and 10 Gbps.
  • Support provided 24 hours a day, 365 days a year through our national network operations centre (NNOC).
  • Metro ethernet coverage is available nationally.
  • Available in three classes of service (real-time, business data and general data) concurrently.
  • Reliable and resilient high-speed backbone on our own infrastructure.

Ethernet products

Ethernet Express

Ethernet Express is a point-to-point layer 2 ethernet symmetrical service providing bandwidth options of 1-1000 Mbps on quality of service (QoS) enabled shared infrastructure (metro ethernet).

It can be configured as ethernet private line (EPL) or ethernet virtual private line (EVPL). Bandwidth can be added in small increments via software changes – so you only pay for what you need. You can provision your own layer 3 services, like video or voice on the foundation of the Ethernet Express service giving you the flexibility you need for your connectivity needs. It offers three classes of service (real-time, business data and general data) concurrently.

The product supports multiple access technologies and they can work interchangeably.

Benefits

  • Cost-effective, high-speed connectivity in and between metropolitan area networks (MAN).
  • Service multiplexing allows for terminating various VLANs on one port. This is the multiplexing of two or more layer 2 VPNs/VLLs onto one physical port of an end-user device.
  • Proactive-network engagement (NNOC) and reactive-service management.

MetroClear

MetroClear offers multipoint-to-multipoint (MP2MP) layer 2 ethernet service providing bandwidth options of 1-1000 Mbps on quality of service (QoS) enabled infrastructure.

The product offers cost-effective, high-speed connectivity within and between cities designed perfect for your business to connect multiple locations. It can be configured as ethernet private LAN (EPLAN) or ethernet virtual private LAN (EVPLAN). It offers three classes of service (real-time, business data and general data) concurrently.

Benefits

  • Offers end-users high-speed connectivity between multiple sites.
  • Increased economies of scale on higher bandwidths.
  • Relatively inexpensive and bandwidth can be added in small increments via software changes.
  • ME is a quality of service (QoS) enabled service and offers scalability based on customer needs.
  • Metro ethernet integrates easily with existing infrastructure.

SIP via ME

SIP via ME is a layer 2 point of interconnect link (PoIL) that provides a logical connection using the SIP signalling protocol over a metro ethernet between a defined Openserve point of interconnect switch and an interconnecting party’s switch.

Features

  • Provided over metro ethernet network.
  • Provided from defined Openserve point of interconnection nodes (PoI).
  • Real-time CoS supported.
  • Open-source.
  • Next-generation network.

Benefits

  • Scalable solution.
  • Flexibility – Simpler upgrades and downgrades configuration.
  • Lower L2 overheads.
  • Distance independent billing.
  • Lower cost (Opex and Capex).
  • Enables domestic voice interconnect.
